In Brebbia pipes we have been producing hand-made pipes for 50 years.
It is for sure the oldest laboratory in Italy still active.
Some transferred abroad to cut costs, others advertise hundreds years old activities but with more recent productions, others unfortunately closed down.
We analyze the main points our fans acknowledge us:

BREBBIA IS SWEET:


In 60 years of activity Brebbia pipes gained this enviable award mostly due thank of the favourable location of the laboratory.
It is in fact located in the middle of a small sandstone valley closed all around by hills and crossed far and wide by the Bardello river, effluent of the Varese Lake, that is in that point very meandering. The very basic ground and the high grade of humidity all over the year , generate a very humid microclimate that is perfect to naturally sweet , slowly dry and season the ebauchons of the briar-wood that only here are able to expel quite all the tannin. The tannic acid contained in all roots but especially inside the briar of Erica arborea is the most responsible of the bad taste of a pipe especially at the first smokes.

In 60 years of activity Brebbia pipes developed a personal style made of proportion and details that mix up classic and modern. Everybody recognizes in our shapes , especially the classic ones , a perfection that pass over fashion and time.



BREBBIA IS TRADITION :


In 60 years of activity Brebbia pipes has acquired a deep respect for the traditional craftsmanship techniques ( they produce pipes with the same head turning machines of 60 years ago and than they realize all the 50 or more working stages fully by hand or with the help of small electric engines , they use only vegetal stains and natural and safe finishing products tested with the time and kept secret ).

In 60 years of activity Brebbia pipes is testimonial with his Museum of a period in which the surrounding of Varese area started at the end of the 18th century the first export of the raw canvas named Olona and the pipes that employed until 3.000 people at that time until nowadays.
